It has around 60-millimeter-long wings. Its antennas are pink with the upper side of head in white and the end in black, which is crooked just like a hook. There is white spot in the middle of fore wings and the entire hind wings are scarlet. The back side of wings has pink inclined band. The head shape of larvae is rapidly narrowed towards the head. When larvae receive impetus, they make the head greatly swollen.
Imagoes are easily observed in many places including forests or villages people live, and they tend to gather towards lights at night. Larvae feed on various plants.
