    It has around 50~60-millimeter-long wings. It is also called fabricius. Its antennas of both males and females are comb shape and the pattern is quite short. The body side and outside of fore wings, and outside of hind wings have distinctive and complicated wave patterns. It also has regular semicircle in the inside of the outer margin of fore wings. The half of the inside of hind wings is dark black and the part towards body has much fur.

  • ecology

    Imagoes are observed in mountains with thick forest and tend to move towards lights at night. Larvae feed on border privet (ligustrum obtusifolium) and Japanese privet.
