  • form

    It has around 100~110-millimeter-long wings. The antennas of males look like feather shape, and that of females, comb shape. Particularly, it has long tail shape in the back part of hind wings. Wings are blue and white, or jade, and body has much white fur. The front margin of fore wings is dark purple with white scales in its front part. It has yellow or lemon yellow round patterns at the end of the middle area of fore and hind wings, which are transparent in the middle with black edge.

  • ecology

    They inhabit in broad-leaved trees in the mountains and move towards lights at night. They are pests as larvae feed on apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees, alder trees and mulberry trees. They survive winter as pupae.
