It is around 6~9-millimeter-long. The body is black tube-shaped with sightly navyish red part. Head is black ellipse-shaped with one horizontal convex line and stipples. Its antennas are black. The back area of prothorax has glossy scarlet protrusion. Its legs are quite short with the middle of femurs and the last two segments of abdomen in orange or scarlet color.
They inhabit in asteraceae plants and do harm to sprouts of daisy fleabane. They emerge once a year, become imagoes in September and survive winter as imagoes in roots of chrysanthemum.
