It is around 5.0~8.5-millimeter-long. The entire body is yellow with black head, and small and white patterns between compound eyes. The back of thorax is also black with big white patterns on the front edge. Its elytra have seven round and black patterns in a red ground.
The species is very commonly observed and active on sunny places from early spring. Both imagoes and larvae feed on aphid.
