    It is around 25~40-millimeter-long. Its head, the back area of prothorax, and the edge of elytra are usually reddish brown, but elytra are sometimes greenish black or even completely green to the back area of prothorax. It has long head with many comb patterns on the fore head. Its elytra have many spots and hind wings of membrane have atrophied, so the species have no enough power to fly.

  • ecology

    They usually inhabit in the woods, and hide under fallen leaves or humus soil in the daytime, and become active in the evening. They are strong predators by eating larvae of earthworms, snails, butterflies and moths, as well as tend to move towards molasses.
