It is around 12~13-millimeter-long. Females are way bigger, the largest froghopper inhabiting in Korea. They have glossy back with grayish yellow, dark brown and reddish brown zebra patterns in a yellowish brown ground. They also have a pair of distinctive yellow spots on two-thirds at the end of fore wings. The bottom part of body is dark or reddish brown.
They usually inhabit in wet areas such as near stream, valley, fields or paddies in the mountains or hills, and feed on juices from willow or other kinds of trees. They can also be observed in mugwart or other types of grasses.
