Scutelleridae
May to October
Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan
It is around 17~20-millimeter-long. Its body has red stripes in a glossy goldish green ground. There sometimes exist ones with orange or red stripes in a cobalt blue or black ground without any gloss. Narrow and red stripes appear along the edge and middle on the back area of prothorax. Small scutellum covers the entire abdomen and wings, and has short stripes on the starting point. There are also W-shaped stripes in the middle as well as + shaped stripes behind, which is connected with the front part.
They survive winter as larvae under barks of trees or fallen leaves, and become imagoes from late May. They inhabit in broad-leaved trees including cornelian cherry and are sometimes observed on some grass species.
