It is around 40~57-millimeter-long. The entire body is deep green or dark brown. Both ends of fore wings are deep green, and the rest part is dark brown with two gray vertical lines. On the hind wings, there is a dark brown colored line in the middle with inside in lemon yellow and outside in a little dark color.
They are commonly observed in grass on the roadside or fields. They protect themselves by its green spotty patterns. They usually feed on leguminoid plants. Females lay their eggs in the ground around September. They survive winter as eggs and emerge once a year.
