Phasmatidae
March to November
Korea and Japan
It is around 100mm-millimeter-long. In terms of the body color, males’ one is entirely light brown, but females’ one varies depending on where they inhabit such as light brown, dark brown, green or yellowish green. They have no wings, very short antennas and a pair of spurs on the head. Males have dim red band on the back of thorax.
They emerge once a year. They lay around 14 eggs a day and single individual lays 600 to 700 eggs. When they are surprised, they fall from a tree and do not move just like they are dead by spreading their legs extended back and forth and get them stuck around the body.
