Females are around 8.0~11.5-millimeter-long. The entire body is blackish brown with abundant black fur. Both processes on the clypeus are wide and the middle part is almost flat. It has one small process on the edge of the side. Males have similar appearance to O. pedicornis.
They make walls with mud inside of the bamboo pipes to lay their eggs. They have recently been used as pollinators for fruit trees such as apple trees.
