    It is around 80~95-millimeter-long when spreading its wings. There is no difference in color and patterns between males and females. They vary greatly in seasons. For the species becoming adults in spring, it has yellowish green and for the species becoming adults in summer, it is white. Females have wide wings and the black part is not that developed as much as that of males.

    The butterflies emerge twice a year, and they inhabit at the edge of forests or paths of mountains. It is easy to see them fly in the trees. They gather at damp places, sap of oak tree or filth on the ground. They lay their eggs one by one in a leaf of food plant, and the period from laying to hatching is seven to nine days. Caterpillars feed on leaves irregularly, and when eating hard leaves, they leave veins of leaves. Food plants are hackberry and caudate-leaf hackberry. They survive winter under fallen leaves as caterpillars .
